Glue

Whatever craft you enjoy doing you will usually need to use some type of glue.  When scrapbooking you always have to look for supplies that are acid free and glue is no exception to that.  Check that the adhesive you choose is appropriate for scrapbooking.  A relatively new product on the market is glue dots, basically dots of adhesive sold by the roll.  These sticky dots are available in several sizes and tack levels.  As they are also acid free they are perfect for scrapbook albums.

If you are doing a craft project with kids the glue dots really cut down on the amount of mess made.  A definite no-no for scrapbooking is the glue stick.  While some of these sticks may be acid free the glue tends to harden and become brittle over time.  Archival safe tape may also be used for scrapbooking.

Our last piece of advice for using glue in your craft project is to double check the positioning of the item to be glued before you stick it down.  You have all heard the saying that carpenters use - measure twice, cut once.  Your scrapbook will look much more professional if you follow this simple plan.
