Scrapbook Poems
So you have your pictures ready and have started to assemble your scrapbook. Now what? Well, we think that some of the most important items to include in your scrapbook are poems. These poems can be your own or something you have found on a website or in a book. They set the tone and mood for your memory book. Here are a few suggestions on the type of poems and where to find them.
You can find poems for your scrapbook almost anywhere. Check out a favorite children’s book if you are doing a book for a child. You can use their favorite nursery rhymes and use embellishments to match. If you are doing a book for a gardener we like the poem “Mary, Mary Quite Contrary” surrounded by pictures of the recipients garden. For a wedding book how about a religious or inspirational verse or a verse from the couples favorite romantic song (maybe the one they used for their first dance).
There are beautiful poems available on greeting cards that would be very suitable for a scrapbook. Another source is the web, some websites are dedicated to just that subject, simply type the term scrapbook poems into a search engine and see what you get. Lastly, how about trying your hand at poetry yourself? Nothing personalizes a book more than your own thoughts. Poems don’t have to rhyme, just be your feelings from the heart. Give it a go!
